UFC 219 helped the champion Chris Cyborg answered several questions about his dominance in the featherweight division. Facing Holly holm, a world-class fighter, the Brazilian showed her technique and the power of her hands to win by decision and face the biggest challenge of her career.

Using his pressure game, but with a lot of patience not to submit to the North American's deadly counterattacks, Cris showed all his technique, varying attacks and shining with his muay thai forged with iron and fire in the legendary Chute Boxe. The challenger was left with the honor of reaching the decision with the most dominant woman in MMA history.

After the fight, Cyborg asked to fight in Australia and named his next challenger: Megan anderson, an Australian who succeeded her as Invicta featherweight champion and one of the strongest fighters currently active in the category.

“I want to thank the Holly holm for coming to fight with me, she showed today that she is a great fighter. I thank God, because He is always first. To my fans, I was able to show a little more of Cyborg, thank you. And I want to fight in Australia, with a real featherweight, and the Megan anderson is that person. But it all depends on the UFC. I’ll fight whoever Dana White wants,” declared the Brazilian.

THE FIGHT

The first round started with a surprise for Cyborg: Holm moved very well and connected with straight lefts that bothered the champion. The Brazilian had problems dealing with her opponent's footwork, but at the end of the round she showed that she had deciphered Holly's game and found the American's chin. In the second round, Cris began to dominate, unleashing increasingly harder blows and putting the former bantamweight champion in trouble.

But it was in the third round that the duel swung decisively towards Brazil. Cyborg began to read Holm's kicks well and managed to close the American's eye, who was beginning to become vulnerable to counterattacks with the champion's heavy hand. At the end of the round, Holly was saved by the bell after a brutal sequence from Cris.

The fourth and fifth rounds were similar. Cyborg pressed, moving forward, varying his blows, between low and high kicks and hooks and straights, while Holm continued looking to connect with her straight left and high kick – at that point already deciphered by the champion. In the end, more pressure from Cris, who was unable to finish the fight, but left the octagon giant.
