The bantamweight Iuri Marajó is another local fighter confirmed for UFC Belém, on February 3rd, an event that marks the debut of Ultimate in the North of Brazil. He will face Joe Soto and will seek to recover from his bad phase, as he is coming off two consecutive defeats in 2017, after starting the year with a comeback victory over Luke sanders. The information is from the Combate channel website.

Marajó, which has its nickname borrowed from the island that is part of Pará, was completed by brian kelleher at UFC 212, held in June in Rio de Janeiro and then ended up losing by decision in a duel against Alejandro Pérez, who was part of UFC Fresno earlier this month. Before, he had finished Luke sanders with a kneebar in March. At 37 years old, the bantamweight has a vast professional record, with 34 wins, nine losses and one No Contest (fight without result).
Joe Soto, who debuted in Ultimate fighting for the title against TJ Dillashaw (he replaced Renan Barao, who did poorly in the weight cut), also comes from a negative result – he was finished by Brett johns at TUF Finale 27. “One Bad Mofo” has 18 wins and six losses in his MMA fighting record. In March of this year, Soto fought in Brazil, winning Rani Yaya by decision at UFC Fortaleza.
