Hours after UFC president, Dana White, revealed that he was negotiating the signing of multi-time boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, the boxer himself denied that he would fight MMA or that he intended to sign with the UFC. Although he did not deny negotiations with Dana, the American guaranteed that he has no desire to change sports after an impossible career in boxing.

Mayweather also explained what he meant last week, when he commented that he could earn US$1 billion as a UFC fighter and that he would be negotiating his move from boxing to MMA.

“What I said exactly was this: if I've made a billion before, I could do it again. If I chose to sign with the UFC, have three or four fights and then face Conor McGregor, I could make $1 billion. I can. I could make that money in three or four fights, I could make $1 billion. If I chose to enter the octagon and fight (…) I just wanted to say that. If I wanted, I could make that money quickly. But being able and doing are different things. I won't do that. I never said I would. I said I could”, commented Mayweather, in an interview with the North American website “FightHype”.

After the North American's words, Conor McGregor made a point of provoking him. Through his social networks, the Irishman posted a photo of himself with the two UFC belts he won and one word in the caption: “coward”, clearly referring to the boxer.
