Former UFC champion Georges St Pierre left his middleweight belt vacant to deal with colitis, an infection in the large intestine. However, even with his career on hold, the Canadian is making big plans for when he returns to fight. And they include two of the biggest names in combat sports. Firas Zahabi, GSP's coach, revealed that his pupil will seek the “most epic duels possible” and mentioned Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather as possible opponents for St. Pierre.

In an interview with Canadian broadcaster TSN, Zahabi declared that GSP will have to wait until he is completely cured of the disease to return to training and guarantees that the fighter's next step is a super fight.
“I think Georges will take care of himself, improve and then get back to the gym. You will feel your own body's reactions and then you will decide what you want. You will try to find out what you want, what is the most interesting fight and what is the most epic fight that is within your reach. Conor McGregor? Floyd Mayweather? We need a megafight. Georges will return for a big and exciting fight”, commented Zahabi, who defended his pupil's decision to look for fights that will generate more money for him.
“I always say to people who criticize him: “Go out there and do what he did.” It's not easy. He defended his welterweight title several times. A lot of guys got their chances. Fighters now have to get in line and do things the way he did. When he was in line, he never complained about anyone. He did all this without complaining to anyone. Did he help grow the sport or hurt the sport? He helped the sport grow. Now, a lot of guys are getting bigger salaries, bigger bonuses, why? Because of great fighters, not just Georges, but great ones like him (…) In the future, newcomers will sign their first contract with the UFC and they will already be millionaires. Because of greats like Georges,” he defended.
