Former title challenger Tyron woodley, Stephen Thompson wants another chance against the champion. And after the victory of Rafael Dos Anjos about Robbie Lawler, the North American decided to challenge the Brazilian, believing that a victory over him will bring him a new fight for the welterweight belt that he has already contested on two other occasions.

Through his official Twitter, the karateka made a point of congratulating both Dos Anjos and Lawler after UFC Winnipeg last Saturday (16) and revealed that he would like to face the former lightweight champion in March 2018.
“What a war this fight was! Hats off to Dos Anjos and Lawler for their efforts. I might be back in the octagon from March, Rafael Dos Anjos. Let's give the fans another great gift. We both want gold, so it’s only fair that we fight for it ourselves”, tweeted the American, also drawing the attention of Dana White, president of the UFC.
Despite being ranked number one in the welterweight division, Thompson is unlikely to get another shot at the title anytime soon. The American fought against Woodley at UFC 205, in an exciting draw, but the rematch at UFC 209 left a lot to be desired due to the lack of action and “Wonderboy” lost to the champion in a very balanced result. After the defeat, he won again at UFC 217, dominating Jorge masvidal.
