In the main portion of UFC Winnipeg, two of the best welterweights in the world exchanged blows for 15 minutes in one of the most exciting fights of the event. Best for Argentine Santiago Ponzinibbio, which surpassed Mike Perry in technique and using jabs and low kicks to put an end to the North American's movement, winning the decision and achieving his sixth consecutive victory.

But he had to work to get there. In the first round, Perry unleashed hard blows and forced “Gente Boa”, revealed on TUF Brasil, to walk backwards and clinch to avoid being knocked out. The North American tired in the second round and, from then on, the Argentine's low kicks began to take effect and Ponzinibbio began to dominate the fight, winning the final two rounds handily.
