The welterweight Colby covington appears to have started to focus his provocations on the champion Tyron woodley. After his victory over Demian Maia, UFC Sao Paulo, when he angered the Brazilian fans by insulting the local people, the North American thinks he deserves a chance at the title, but Woodley, current owner of the category's belt, continues to ignore him. Through his Instagram, “Chaos” provoked his rival, comparing him to the main character in the film Forrest Gump.

In a montage posted on his profile, Covington said that the UFC offered a fight with him to Woodley, who reportedly turned down the fight. Colby says the champion is running away from him and “created” a shoulder injury to not face him, but he backed down when the fight with Nate diaz had been offered by Ultimate.
“I warned you word for word what would happen. Tyron woodley would never have a fight with Nate diaz on December 30th, at UFC 219. And as soon as the UFC offered gossip Tyron a fight with me, the number one contender for the belt, he went back into hiding and claimed false shoulder surgery”, teased the American .
With the victory over Demian, Covington reached third place in the welterweight rankings, behind only Robbie Lawler e Stephen Thompson, both already won by Woodley. “Chaos” has eight wins (13 in total) and only one defeat in Ultimate, suffered by the Brazilian Warlley alves, in 2015, the only setback of his career.

I called it word for word what would happen. @TWoodley was never getting a fight with @natediaz209 on dec 30th at #ufc219 and then as soon as @ufc offered #gossipgirl Tyrone a fight with ME, the number one welterweight contender in the world, that he would go back into hiding and continue faking a shoulder injury. #youcanrunbutyoucanthide #defendorvacate @danawhite
