Shortly after Max Holloway win José Aldo for the second time, at UFC 218 last Saturday (2), the last fighter to beat the Hawaiian, Conor McGregor, made a point of provoking him. Using his social networks, “The Notorious” posted a photo of Holloway in a wheelchair, where Conor appears in the background wearing sunglasses. The caption reads: “I miss these glasses.”

However, McGregor's clear provocation did not go unnoticed. Also on social media, Holloway responded with “facts”. Using a poster that extols his achievements within the featherweight category, such as the highest number of significant strikes connected (1093), the highest number of knockdowns (8), the highest number of stoppages (8), knockouts (6), victories (13) and wins in a row (11), “Blessed” declared Conor retired.

“Ah, do you miss your sunglasses? I bet you miss 2015 too, brother. Retired fighters love the past”, said the featherweight champion.

McGregor and Holloway faced each other in August 2013, at ufc boston, which had the surprising defeat of Mauricio Shogun for Chael Sonnen in the main fight. On that occasion, the Irishman dominated the Hawaiian, using his takedowns and left hands to keep the fight under his control, as he injured his knee at the beginning of the fight. It was the last defeat for Holloway, who after the setback to Conor, started a sequence of 11 consecutive victories, including the two victories over Aldo.
