UFC 218, an event that takes place in the early hours of this Sunday (03), in Detroit (USA), did not start well for Brazil! Representatives of the country on the preliminary card, Charles of the Bronx e Alex Cowboy were defeated by Paul felder and Yancy Medeiros respectively. Charles had a good start, but ended up not being able to secure the finish and ended up defeated by knockout in the second round. Cowboy fought one of the best fights of the year against Medeiros. With a lot of alternation in control and knockdowns for both sides, the Hawaiian showed better conditioning to win the fight in the third round.

A war! This is how the fight between the Hawaiian Yancy Medeiros and the Brazilian can be summarized Alex Cowboy. The fighters provided one of the best fights of the year. But after several comebacks, Medeiros showed better physical condition and won by technical knockout in the third round.
The dispute started hot. In the first few seconds, Medeiros connected with a direct hit and took the Brazilian to the canvas. Cowboy quickly got up and tried to take the advantage of his rival. He pressed his rival against the bars and with a right cross he returned the knockdown. The Hawaiian was also punched several times when he tried to dodge. He was quite shaken, but even so, with great absorption power, he managed to survive until the end of the partial.
In the second round, Cowboy took the initiative again, but Medeiros was not intimidated and responded to all of the Brazilian's attacks. The Brazilian lost strength in his strikes and Medeiros took advantage to land good punches. In the final moments, the Hawaiian still managed a beautiful takedown, when Alex closed the distance and with the dodge he was already in a fall.
With the dispute tied, the third round would be responsible for defining the winner. Cowboy started better and soon landed three good blows on the Hawaiian before taking him down twice. The Brazilian reached his rival's back, but was unable to stabilize his position. Medeiros took advantage of the space to reverse, staying on top on the ground. The Brazilian still managed to get up, but he was exhausted. With his rival in little condition to fight, the Hawaiian did everything he could to end the dispute. He landed three hard blows that knocked Cowboy down. After a few more punches on the ground, the referee declared a technical knockout.
