One day after journalist Paul Williams reported that UFC champion Conor McGregor got involved in a mess with the Irish mafia and his life is at risk, the fighter's father denied any fight between his son and mobsters. Tony McGregor called the report that points to the athlete's involvement in a fight with mobsters “total nonsense”.

Despite never denying that his son was involved in a disturbance last Sunday, McGregor guarantees that Conor did not punch any man linked to the Kinahan group, which dominates drug trafficking in Dublin, the Irish capital.

“This is all bullshit. It's total bullshit. Absolutely. This story is gaining legs and is getting ridiculous, really. It's even funny. We have nothing to fear, absolutely nothing. There's no one after us for any reason. We are a family that follows and respects the law and we will continue in Ireland to be a family that follows and respects the law”, commented Tony McGregor to the local newspaper “Irish Mirror”.

Earlier this week, Irish newspapers reported that McGregor had been involved in an altercation with three other men in a Dublin bar. Last Wednesday (29), Paul Williams, respected crime journalist, said on his program that Conor had hit the father of a member of the local mafia during the confusion and that mobsters were threatening the Irish fighter.
