The Brazilian Anderson Silva is out of action until the end of 2011. After knocking out the Japanese Yushin Okami At UFC Rio, the middleweight champion will deal with a shoulder injury and his return to the octagon will only take place in 2012.
According to Anderson's manager, Ed Soares, the Brazilian athlete suffered the injury during training for UFC Rio, in August this year, but with help and medication, the “Spider” managed to perform and defend his reign in the category, knocking out the Japanese athlete in the second round.
According to Ed, Anderson's injury is not serious and surgical treatment will not be necessary, just rest and reduced training.
