The Brazilian Antonio Pezão was surprised by the American Daniel Cormier in the semifinals of the Strikeforce heavyweight GP. The Brazilian athlete, who was considered a strong favorite in the fight, suffered from his opponent's mobility and ended up being knocked out in the first round. But right after the duel, still disappointed, Pezão used Twitter to apologize to his fans.

“I want to apologize to our Brazil, it happened. But I hope to be able to better represent our country in the next fight…,” wrote Pezão on the microblog.
In the grand final of the tournament, Pezão's executioner, Daniel Cormier will face veteran Josh Barnett, who in the same event submitted Sergei Kharitonov with a katagatame in the first round.
