Without winning in seven years, BJ Penn rules out further retirement from MMA

At 38 years old and without a win since 2010, BJ Penn admits a lack of motivation, but ruled out hanging up his gloves

The frustrated return to the octagon in 2017 did not dampen plans for B.J. Penn to keep fighting. Without fighting since June of this year, when he was defeated by Dennis Siver, the Hawaiian, although he didn't show much desire to fight again, ruled out the possibility of retiring again. On vacation, he highlights that he still feels like an active fighter.

“I'm enjoying it, I haven't been training. I'm not feeling that competitive fire. If I were knocking my teammates down in the gym, maybe I would think about it. I will return to training for fun. (…) I’m taking things one step at a time, raising my children. We never know what might happen next year. I’m not saying I’m going to fight, but that could, who knows, happen,” she declared in an interview with. B.J. Penn Radio'.

Former UFC lightweight (up to 70kg) and welterweight (up to 77kg) champion, B.J. Penn hasn't won an official fight in over seven years. His last triumph was in November 2010, when he knocked out Matt hugs. Since then, he has drawn with Jon Fitch and lost to Nick Diaz, Rory McDonald, Frankie Edgar, Yair Rodriguez and Dennis Siver. At 38 years old, he has a record with 16 positive results, 12 negative results and two draws.
