Oezdemir victim claims to have been unconscious for 14 minutes after attack

The light heavyweight Volkan oezdemir, recently arrested for an assault in August, was released on bail, and details of the trouble that put him behind bars emerged this week. Kevin Cohen accuses the Swiss man of attacking him in a bar in Fort Lauderdale, a city in Florida, in August. At the time, Cohen was allegedly punched, leaving him unconscious for around 14 minutes and having to be treated for a concussion, in addition to suffering a laceration to his face.

The details were published by the North American website MMA Fighting, which obtained the police report of the incident and also revealed that the Swiss had his passport collected by local authorities.

The fighter's lawyer declared at the hearing that Oezdemir was not the aggressor and that his actions were justified, in addition to guaranteeing that his client has “faith in the Florida judicial system”. The information is from the local newspaper “Sun Sentinel”. Through his official Twitter, the fighter posted a photo of his training at Combat Club, a team that emerged from the dissolution of Blackzilians, with the caption “no comments, no time to waste and focused on my goal”.

Before the mess that could leave him in prison for up to 15 years, Oezdemir was the favorite to face the 93 kg champion.
