Frank Camacho was making his lightweight debut at UFC Australia. However, he had trouble making weight and ended up being fined 20% of his purse for the duel against Damien Brown. However, the error in the scales cost the fighter much more: he had Fight of the Night against the Australian, but he will not be able to receive the US$50 bonus for not having reached the limit of his new category.

Ultimate recently made the punishments even more severe for those who fail to make weight – and now they include ineligibility to receive bonuses. Even with the victory, Camacho won't be able to collect the extra check after his big fight against Brown, who will now have a reason to console himself. Ultimate did not immediately disclose whether Camacho's bonus will go to Brown or whether it will not be given at all.
In addition to Fight of the Night, two other fighters from the preliminary portion of UFC Australia received awards, but for Performance: Nik lentz surprised by submitting former teammate Will Brooks with a guillotine, and Tai tuivasa debuted in Ultimate with a spectacular flying knee over Rashad Coulter. Both will receive an extra $50 check for their interruptions.
