“In that last fight my hair was matted with blood. I took a shower and the crazy thing is that the shower floor was white, but as soon as I got in, I could see how much blood I was actually cleaning off of myself. My back, my shins, everything was covered. I'm still drawing blood from my ears. With ears like that, which have these slits, I must still have a few drops”, commented Poirier, who said he is passionate about bloody and competitive fights.

“I have a few fights like that in my career and while it's happening you just know. I like. I hear the crowd, I smell the blood, I know that my eye is swollen. I know they are both hurt and yet we keep fighting. It's fun. I look forward to it. For me, this is fighting”, he concluded.
