The Brazilian José Aldo will have another chance at the featherweight belt. And it came sooner than anyone imagined. The former category champion has a verbal challenge to face Max Holloway, the man who defeated him at UFC 212 in June this year and is now the division title holder. The information is from the Combate channel website.

Even though the contract has not been signed, Combate reports that both Aldo and Holloway have accepted the rematch, as has the UFC and it should take place at UFC 218, which will take place in Detroit, on December 2nd. Originally, the Hawaiian was going to face Frankie Edgar, but the former lightweight champion was injured and forced to leave the fight, paving the way for the rematch to take place.

After Edgar's injury, other athletes asked for a duel against Holloway, such as Ricardo Lamas, who would face Aldo in December, and Cub swanson, which has a fight scheduled with Brian ortega. Interestingly, the three names floated by Ultimate to replace Edgar were already beaten by Holloway, who has an impressive streak of 10 wins and hasn't lost since 2014, when he was defeated by Conor McGregor.

In addition to Holloway x Aldo 2, UFC 218 will have Francis Ngannou x alistair overeem, And Henry Cejudo x Sergio Pettis and Eddie Alvarez x Justin gaethje. Other Brazilians will also be in action at the event, such as Alex Cowboy, who takes Yancy Medeiros, and charles do brox, which measures forces with Paul felder.
