After Frankie Edgar get injured and leave the fight he would have for the featherweight belt against Max Holloway at UFC 218, December 2nd, in Detroit (USA), José Aldo acted quickly. Through his social networks, the former champion asked for a rematch against the Hawaiian, who dethroned him in June this year, in Rio de Janeiro, by technical knockout.

“UFC, I'm ready to fight for the belt with Holloway. Give me that rematch. Hey, Holloway, I want my belt back. I deserve a rematch. Let’s make this happen, UFC”, wrote the man from Manaus, who has not yet received any response.
Despite the request, Aldo already has a commitment scheduled against Ricardo Lamas at UFC Winnipeg, on December 16th. The fight will also be a rematch, as the two already faced each other at UFC 169, in 2013, with the Brazilian winning by unanimous decision. On that occasion, Aldo successfully defended his fifth title in the featherweight division.
Before knocking out Aldo at UFC 212, Holloway had won the division's interim title by beating Anthony Pettis by technical knockout at UFC 206, last December. At just 25 years old, the champion is on an incredible streak of 11 consecutive victories, having last lost in 2013, to Conor McGregor. In total, there are 14 positive results and three negative results in the franchise.
