“Today was a decisive night for the UFC strawweight division. The invincible Joanna Champion lost her majesty, thus ending a cycle of reign. Congratulations to Rose namajunas, a great fighter, all my respect to her who endured Joanna's provocations every week of the fight and didn't lose her temper, she saved everything for the exact moment! Watching as a spectator today I asked myself a question, why didn't Joanna fight me the same way she fought Rose? She didn't get closer for a minute, and when she got closer we exchanged a lot of punches, but from the 2nd round onwards she just connected weak blows and ran, with the intention of just scoring points. Finally, I want my new chance to fight for the belt, this time with the new champion Rose namajunas. Many don't know and I also didn't make a point of publishing it in the media because after the defeat it could sound like an excuse, yes, I was injured when I fought for the belt with Joanna, I was injured the week of the fight, and I still decided to fight! Maybe it was my mistake but I needed to try, I recovered like you will in the fight with Gadelha, and I evolved YES, I YES deserve a new chance! I want to fight for the belt and I'm here asking publicly, to my fans, friends and everyone who follows my work. Help me, let's make this fight happen!”, wrote Jéssica, who also took advantage of the publication to tag Dana White, president of the UFC, and Sean Shelby, matchmaker responsible for matching fights in the organization.
