The new champion's speech cheered up Dana White. The UFC president admitted that he really likes the idea of organizing a superfight between two champions and declared that DJ had been looking for a great rival and seems to have found his antagonist in Dillashaw.
“Well, this fight really excites me. Johnson had been wanting a big challenge, a fight that would really make him money and this fight is against TJ Dillashaw. I already really liked this fight, but now that Dillashaw is champion again, the idea seems even better to me. We’re going to try to make this duel between champions”, White pointed out to the international press at a press conference after UFC 217.
Despite the excitement in facing Demetrious Johnson At flyweight (57 kg.), Dillashaw will have to deal with questions about his ability to make weight, as he seems adapted to the bantamweight division (61 kg.). However, the new champion revealed that he will have no problem reaching the limit of the lower division.
“I actually need to work out and have a good diet to maintain my muscles and get heavy enough for the bantamweight division. Weight won't be a problem for us to marry this fight, believe me”, assured TJ.
