Former bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw arrived at UFC 217 this Saturday (4) willing to do anything to regain the belt. And, after a great initial struggle, the American managed to make his dream come true by knocking out his former teammate cody garbrandt in the second round of the event's co-main fight, the biggest of 2017 so far for Ultimate.

After having difficulty dealing with the speed and weight in the hands of his former friend and then champion, TJ came close to being knocked out when he absorbed a hook, fell stunned and was saved by the bell. However, he managed an excellent recovery after needing to be carried to the corner and came back different in the second round. Instead of looking for combinations, Dillashaw started using kicks – one of them hit Cody, who recovered, but was soon knocked out, losing his unbeaten professional MMA record and the bantamweight title.
