Royce Gracie rules out retirement and wants rematch against Matt Hughes

The UFC is currently the fastest growing sports organization in the United States, but if the event is a phenomenon today, much of it is due to Royce gracie. The Brazilian, who won three of the show's first four tournaments, is idolized around the world and a member of the UFC Hall of Fame, but all this recognition does not make the athlete think about retirement.

Without competing since 2007 and aged 44, Royce was tipped to have his farewell fight at UFC Rio, an event that takes place next Saturday (27), in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, but the black belt stated that he was not approached by the show's organizers .

“I wasn’t approached by anyone from the UFC,” said Royce. Gracie also revealed that he would only compete again if his opponent was the North American Matt hugs, a fighter who defeated him in 2006, Royce's only setback in the event.
