Minotauro defends brother against doping: 'He will prove innocence'

UFC Ambassador and former champion, Rodrigo Minotauro came to his brother's defense Rogério Minotouro, caught in an anti-doping test last week for using diuretics. The former fighter revealed that the light heavyweight has already requested the analysis of the B sample, collected together with the test that was initially analyzed, and said that Rogério will take other measures, such as independently analyzing all the supplements he takes during preparation for the fights. .

In an interview with the Combate channel website, Minotauro assured that there was no bad faith on his brother's part and declared that he hopes to see him back in the octagon soon and rejected the idea of ​​retirement for Minotouro.

“He was suspended due to the minimum amount of diuretic, which I believe would not do him any favors. Rogério loses 5kg to fight. It doesn't do any favors. It's not something he took in the last week of the fight. He was caught for a minimum quantity and asked for proof of the substance. I believe it is a contaminated supplement. He asked for the countertest (…) Rogério will find something in the countertest because he had no intention of taking a diuretic, it is not an anabolic steroid, nothing that would increase his performance. Rogério has no bad faith. I think he'll find it and they won't suspend him. The amount that appeared is so minimal that it cannot be intentional. I believe he will soon be fighting. His intention is not to retire”, revealed the former fighter.

Minotouro had a fight scheduled against Jared Cannonier for UFC Winnipeg. When he failed the anti-doping test, however, the light heavyweight had his duel with the Frenchman canceled and was preventively suspended, so he could focus on his defense.
