Alexander Gustafasson is already preparing to try again for the UFC light heavyweight title. Even admitting that Volkan oezdemir should be the champion's next opponent Daniel Cormier, the Swede is already training with an eye on the North American, as he says he is sure that DC will “go over” the Swiss sensation when the two face each other, probably at the beginning of 2018.

In an interview with the Swedish TV program Viaplay Fighting, Gustafsson also sent a message to Cormier, who beat him at UFC 192, in 2015, in a very balanced decision. “The Mauler” assured that he will not face anyone else and that he will wait for his title shot.

“I'm not going anywhere. Daniel knows that I'm here to stay and that I'm waiting for my rematch with him. I won't fight anymore. I am going to wait. I have no hurry. I've gone longer without fighting. I am fine. I'll wait and see what happens. I want the belt, I want a title fight. Let’s see if DC against Oezdemir is confirmed and I will fight the winner, who will most likely be Cormier”, declared Gustafsson, analyzing the possible duel.

“Volkan has a small chance. He has powerful hands as we saw against Jimi Manuwa. He is not someone to be underestimated. He has strong punches, but DC is the better fighter. He can take a punch, he has cardio. He is a better MMA fighter than Volkan. I see Cormier winning this fight,” he concluded.
