The featherweight Cub swanson, one of the veterans of the Ultimate category, faces the promise Brian ortega in the main fight of an event that will still have its location announced by the UFC. After that, however, the North American guarantees that he will end his cycle in the organization. The fight with Ortega is the last of his contract and Swanson revealed that he has no intention of renewing his contract with the UFC.

In an interview with the North American ESPN podcast Five Rounds, the featherweight explained the logic that led him to make the decision not to renew with Ultimate. Swanson guarantees that he simply wants to be paid better.
“I’ve been fighting for 13 years and I’m at the peak of my career. But at some point I will start to fall. And I would like to retire before I have several bad performances in a row, knowing that I have enough money to invest and do the right things. I want this opportunity. I've been at the top of the division for a long time. Holloway vs. Edgar will be the 20th title fight since I joined the UFC. It's kind of frustrating to see a guy like Frankie Edgar, which is great, getting multiple title fights. I don't understand. I wish I had a little bargaining power to renegotiate, but I can't do that. I'm next. They always say they can't guarantee anything, but they know they can”, declared Swanson, who says he will take out his anger at not being honored by the UFC on Ortega.
“They want me to fight this kid who has never fought a five-round war? Ok. Unfortunately for him, I'm very angry with this whole situation and I'm going to take it all out on him”, he concluded.
