Ray Borg's coach guarantees that his pupil will 'dethrone' Johnson

Ray Borg has a strong ally to win Demetrious Johnson and make history at UFC 216 this Saturday (7): his team, Jackson’s MMA. Founded by Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn, the team already achieved a similar feat when Holly holm knocked out Ronda Rousey, considered invincible in 2015.

And, according to Brandon Gibson, one of Jackson’s main coaches, Borg will achieve the same feat as her teammate, Holly holm. In an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie, Gibson revealed that the “Tazmexican Devil” has been working for years to beat DJ.

“Since I met him, he told me that his focus was on winning Demetrious Johnson. Not just being UFC champion, but being the guy to unseat the historic champion. For him, the two things have similar weights. Demetrious has been champion since Ray was in school and many of these champions seem to be invincible. We already managed to end it once, when Holly won Ronda Rousey and it will happen again”, declared Gibson, confidently, ensuring that his pupil is at the right time in his career to face Johnson.

“He always knew that, regardless of when the fight would take place, he would be the guy to beat Demetrious. Ray is the man. He has all the tools. I think he is a bad match for Johnson. I know a lot of people have said this, but Ray has all the weapons to win this fight,” he concluded.
