Sakuraba and Frank Shamrock have a 'fight of legends' at Rizin

The fight between the veterans will be based on grappling rules and will take place on October 15th

The next edition of Rizin, an event that takes place on October 15th, in Japan, promises to bring a duel between sports legends. Former UFC champion Ken Shamrock faces Japanese legend Kazushi Sakuraba in a grappling duel with special rules.

The fight between Shamrock and Sakuraba will last 15 minutes and will be contested at 84 kg. At the end of the regulation time, if no athlete manages to submit, the fight will end in a draw.

Sakuraba, 48 years old, has an MMA record of 26 wins, 17 losses and two fights without result. He hasn't fought since December 2015, when he was defeated by Shinya Aoki. Shamrock, 44, has a record of 23 wins, 10 losses and two fights without result. He hasn't fought since his defeat to Nick Diaz, in April 2009.
