After fight, Werdum curses Ferguson and says: 'I almost didn't hit him'

The discussion between Fabricio Werdum e Tony Ferguson during a pre-UFC 216 event, held this Thursday (28), in Las Vegas (USA), it is still giving people something to talk about. The fight started after 'El Cucuy' told the Brazilian to 'shut up' while he was giving interviews. Annoyed, the gaucho began to curse the American lightweight.

After the incident, Werdum, in an interview with the 'Combate' channel website, clarified that Ferguson had already treated him badly hours before, backstage at the event. According to the heavyweight, the 'blood rose' after being disrespected by Tony, which culminated in the insults uttered.

“I greeted him, he was a little dry and I didn't understand why. But I thought he might be irritated by the diet, losing weight, focused, okay. But when I sat down, I was talking to another reporter, and he told me to shut up in Spanish, I said “no”. I cursed him with everything and it was very close to me not hitting him. The “blood rose” a lot, more than in the fight. I was pissed. How do you tell me to shut up like that? It's not like this. I'm not one to provoke, but he said I'm a heavyweight and just because I'm a heavyweight do I have to stay quiet when he tells me to shut up? What “law” is this that I don’t understand? This guy is a real idiot”, explained Werdum.

Ferguson and Werdum enter action at UFC 216, October 7th. The North American faces Kevin Lee for the interim lightweight belt, while 'Vai Cavalo' measures strength with Derrick Lewis, in a confrontation that could leave him close to a new chance to compete for the category title.
