Undefeated in the UFC and coming off a brutal knockout over Serginho Moraes, Kamaru Usman made serious accusations against Ultimate. The TUF 21 champion, who is Nigerian, said the organization does not promote him well because of his nationality. He justified the analysis, saying that he has good victories on his resume, an exciting fighting style and “is not ugly”.

However, Usman does not believe in racism on the part of the UFC. According to the welterweight, Ultimate does not believe it is worth supporting him as the African market has not yet been explored by the company.

Since we don’t have a TV contract and we’re not going to sell many fights there, what would be the reason to promote a guy from that part of Africa?” I prefer to believe that this is the reason. That’s not why I’m not “sellable.” There is no other reason for them not to promote me, other than because I am African and they have not yet entered the market there”, commented the fighter, in an interview with the program The MMA Hour.

After the knockout over Serginho, Usman asked for a fight against the former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos, who has won two victories since moving up to the welterweight division.
