After achieving his first knockout in the UFC by “erasing” Jason Saggo in Pittsburgh, 11 days ago, Gilbert Durinho He's already planning his next move. Aiming for a quick return to the Octagon, the Rio native revealed that he would like to face Canadian promise Olivier Aubin-Mercier, who is coming off three consecutive victories in the lightweight division. However, he guarantees that he would accept to face another opponent who is available in the coming months.

“(I would like to face him) because he is good at grappling. I tweeted him, but he said he doesn't know if it will be ready until December. But I want to fight in December. You don't have to be against him either. Can be anyone. I saw that Stevie Ray was asking for a fight too, so we’ll see”, declared Gilbert, in an interview with the UFC Brasil website.

At 31 years old, Durinho has seven fights in Ultimate, with five wins and two losses. An MMA professional since 2012, the jiu-jitsu ace has 12 triumphs and only two setbacks as a professional. Aubin-Mercier, in turn, was a finalist in TUF Nations 1 in 2014, when he ended up being defeated by Chad Laprise in the season finale. In the UFC, he lost two and won six, most recently against Tony Martin at UFC Pittsburgh in September. At 28 years old, he has ten wins and two losses on his record.
