“I love Ronda, we have a good relationship and, as I have said several times, she is very important for having done so much for MMA, for the UFC and not just for female fighters. But, of course, we're talking about winning a fight, defending a belt and breaking records. It would be nice to beat the Round record, after winning the Rose namajunas. Looking ahead, I want to defend my strawweight belt in 2018 and then we'll see. Maybe I’ll go up,” he declared, in an interview with the North American program UFC Tonight.

The Polish woman won the strawweight belt at UFC 185, by knocking out the first champion in the history of the category, Carla esparza. Afterwards, he defended his title against Jessica penne, Valerie Letorneau, Claudia gadelha, Karolina Kowalkiewicz and, finally, before the Brazilian Jessica Stacker, in his last fight.
