Bate-Estaca regrets having to face Gadelha: 'We're both left'

This Friday (22), in Saitama, at UFC Japan, the Brazilian women Jessica Stacker e Claudia gadelha face each other in the second most important fight of the show, in a duel that could define the next female strawweight challenger. However, if it were up to Jéssica, this duel would not take place before a title fight, but circumstances brought forward the confrontation between the compatriots.

“I wouldn't want to fight her now, I would if it were a title fight, but unfortunately we don't have an opponent. Nobody wants to fight me, nobody wants to fight her, it ended up being the two of us, the two top 5, so there would be no other way to do it”, declared Bate-Estaca, in an interview with the website 'Portal do Vale Tudo'.

Despite admitting that she would not like to face Gadelha in the current scenario, Jéssica guarantees that she is ready to neutralize her next opponent's game. Aware of her opponent's dangerous jiu-jitsu, she makes no secret of the fact that her strategy is to keep the fight standing.

“If everything goes as planned, I will exchange with her, try to frustrate her game and go for striking. I really like exchanging, but I know that if I need to go to the ground, I will be able to do it well and, God willing, victory will come. She’s a tough athlete, there’s no way to underestimate it, but based on the training I’ve been doing, I’m sure I’ll be very strong, very focused to defend (the takedown attempts) and do what I have to do”, she concluded.
