John Lineker seeks recovery against Marlon Vera at UFC São Paulo

Without fighting since December 2016, when he was defeated by TJ Dillashaw on points, John Lineker already has a defined date, location and opponent for his return to the octagon. He faces the Ecuadorian Marlon Vera No. UFC Sao Paulo, on October 28th, in a duel valid for the rooster category (up to 61kg). The information was given first-hand on the Combate channel website.

Before the most recent setback, Lineker, who is currently ranked 5th in the division, had won all four of his fights at bantamweight, beating Francisco Rivera, Rob font, Michael McDonald and John Dodson. A former flyweight, he has, in total, ten positive results and three negative results in the organization.

Vera, in turn, comes from three consecutive victories, including a knockout over the veteran Brad pickett. In Ultimate since 2014, he has won four fights and lost two. At 24 years old, Chito has a record with ten wins, three defeats and one draw.

O UFC Sao Paulo, the organization's last event in Brazil in 2017, will see the return of Lyoto Machida, suspended for the last 18 months. The former light heavyweight champion faces Derek Brunson in the main fight of the show, in a middleweight duel. Also in action will be names like Demian Maia, Antonio Shoe Guy e Thiago Marreta, who face Colby covington, Jack Marshman and Jack hermanssonrespectively.
