The former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey hasn't fought since the end of last year, when she was knocked out in 48 seconds by Amanda nunes at UFC 207. Since then, she has not commented on the setback, nor on her future in MMA, but the company's president, Dana White, is betting that she will retire. However, the North American's coach wants a farewell fight for his pupil: against Chris Cyborg.

In an interview with The MMA Hour, Edmond Tarverdyan guarantees that Rousey would be able to beat the Brazilian, recently crowned UFC featherweight champion. The coach says Cyborg is too slow for Ronda.

“This is the fight I wanted for Ronda. I want to see it. When I trained Ronda, I knew she could beat Cyborg. I know that. She is very slow”, commented Tarverdyan, adding that the North American would be motivated to beat the Brazilian, due to the rivalry between the two in recent years.

"I don't know. Let's live and see what will happen. If everything was right and there were no injuries, we would take this fight and I say now that it is too slow for us. Ronda would win. She needs a challenge, she needs to think of her opponent as an enemy, as she is not a good person. She didn't have that with Holly holm and it was Holm who wanted to be aggressive with Ronda first. But against Cyborg it would be different. Ronda doesn’t like her, believes she used steroids and hurt girls unnecessarily because of it,” she said.

Even so, the return of Ronda Rousey remains an enigma. Tarverdyan is not as pessimistic as Dana White, but admits that the chances of his pupil fighting again are “50%”.

“It will be her decision alone, whether she returns or not. Another fight? I don't know. I talked with her. I don't know if she'll come back. Maybe a fight. If she really can. If her body gives her one more fight and she really, mentally wants to fight, then maybe it will happen. I’d say there’s a 50/XNUMX chance right now,” she signed off.
