Daniel Cormier is the new UFC light heavyweight champion. The announcement, made by the organization itself, came on the same day that the California Athletic Commission (CSAC) changed officially for 'no contest' the result of the main fight of UFC 214, when Jon Jones he had regained his position as number 1 in the division by knocking out DC.

The action was due to Jones having tested positive in a test carried out the day before the fight for the banned substance turinabol. This Tuesday (12), the countertest requested by 'Bones' also came back positive, which puts the fighter's career at risk.
Daniel Cormier
Daniel Cormier won the light heavyweight belt in May 2015, when he submitted Anthony Johnson at UFC 187. At that time, “Rumble” would face Jon Jones for the title, but the then champion lost his position after being involved in an accident while driving under the influence of drugs and drink, being replaced by Cormier. He has since defended his title against Alexander Gustafson, at UFC 192, and again against Johnson, at UFC 210, in addition to winning Anderson Silva in a fight that wasn't worth the title, at UFC 200.
With the annulment of his most recent setback against Jones, Cormier, 38 years old, has a record of 19 wins, one loss and one unsuccessful fight. In the UFC, there are eight triumphs in ten fights. The AKA athlete also won the now-defunct Strikeforce heavyweight GP in 2012.
