Duel between Demetrious Johnson and Ray Borg is confirmed at UFC 216

Demetrious Johnson asked and received by bosses. The duel between the flyweight champion and Ray Borg, which would take place at UFC 215, last Saturday, but it was canceled due to the challenger's health problems, was rescheduled for edition 216, on October 7th, in Las Vegas (USA). With 10 title defenses, the North American is tied with Anderson Silva as the champion with the most defenses in UFC history, but will have the opportunity to overtake the Brazilian if he wins.

Demetrious Johnson, 31 years old, is the first and only UFC flyweight champion. He won the title by defeating Joseph Benavidez at UFC 152, in September 2012. Since then, he has defeated all ten opponents I have faced, the most recent in April of this year, when he submitted Wilson reis. In total, DJ has 26 wins, two losses and one draw in his professional record.

Borg, in turn, has more modest numbers. In Ultimate since 2014, the 24-year-old has already had seven fights at home, with two defeats and five victories, the last over Jussier formiga, last March. His professional record has 11 positive results and two negative results.

Tony Ferguson e Kevin Lee face each other for the interim belt in the lightweight division, which has Conor McGregor as linear champion. Brazil will have three representatives on the card.
