The suspense is over! The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) confirmed that the countertest of the Jon Jones returned with a positive result. The fighter had been caught in the test applied before the fight against Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 on July 29. With this, the career of one of the greatest fighters of all time may be close to an end, as revealed by the president of the franchise, Dana White

'Bones' was caught in the exam carried out the day before the event with the banned substance turinabol, a steroid used to gain muscle mass. Interestingly, the test carried out after the victory against their biggest rival had a negative result.

This is the second time in just over a year that Jones has tested positive for anti-doping tests carried out by USADA. With the confirmation of doping, the UFC must dismiss Jon Jones as light heavyweight champion. Furthermore, the California Athletic Commission, the entity responsible for sanctioning UFC 214, must transform the knockout victory against Daniel Cormier in 'No Contest' (fight without result). The suspension applied by the entity must be longer than two years.

'Bones' confessed to being addicted to cocaine and was arrested for running over a pregnant woman and fleeing the scene because he was high on drugs. At the time, the UFC removed his belt and suspended him until the case was judged and he was sentenced to probation and serving mandatory services.
