Irishman's main striking coach Conor McGregor, Owen Roddy revealed that he wants to see his pupil have a third fight for the UFC against his arch-rival Nate diaz. After seeing the Irishman have a good performance against Floyd Mayweather in boxing, Roddy sees the resolution of the rivalry with Diaz as a natural next step, as each won one of the duels the two had.

In an interview with the program The MMA Hour, the coach declared, however, that there is a great possibility that the winner of Tony Ferguson e Kevin Lee, who are vying for the interim lightweight title at UFC 216, will be “Notorious”’s next opponent before the Irishman can resolve his differences with Nate diaz.
“I would like to see (Conor x) Diaz 3, but obviously there is Ferguson and Lee fighting for the interim belt. If he fights MMA again, it will probably be against the winner of Ferguson vs. Lee. The two fights against Diaz were the best camps I've ever been to. Doing it again would be unbelievable. From what I understand, the fans would like to see this again”, declared Roddy, also guaranteeing that he supports any decision made by the pupil regarding his future.
“For me, I would like to see him fight as much as he likes to fight, because it is an impressive journey. I'm happy to go wherever he wants to go and do whatever he wants to do. If he wants to rest, he will rest, if he wants to fight again, he will fight again. I have always been by Conor’s side in all his decisions, and I will continue by his side in the next steps”, he concluded.
