Brazilian fighter Sergio da Silva was arrested in the United States on suspicion of armed robbery in New York (USA). 'The Savage', as he is known, reportedly entered the Citybank branch, located in the Queens district, and left the place with US$50, around R$158 at the current exchange rate.

According to the North American website, TMZ, the New York police acted quickly and Sergio was identified by the fingerprints he left at the agency. The Brazilian fighter was arrested at his home, which is on the same street as the bank.
Arrested but released
Although the arrest happened quickly, the New York Daily News revealed that Sergio da Silva was released by the Queens Criminal Court without having to pay bail and is now at home.
Without giving further details, the fighter thanked his lawyer and assured everything will be clarified.
“Thanks to my phenomenal lawyer, I'm home and he's working hard to clean up and clear this all up,” Sergio wrote on Facebook.
Last fight
Sergio Silva's last MMA engagement was on June 24, at Bellator 180, when he was submitted via choke by Matt Rizzo. He has been a professional since 2011 and has a record of six wins and nine losses.
