Jon Jones' exam on the day of UFC 214 has a negative result

Test conducted after victory over Cormier did not indicate banned substances in his system, according to 'MMA Fighting'

The drug test saga Jon Jones there was a new chapter this Friday (1). According to the North American website MMA fighting, the light heavyweight champion took a blood test administered by USADA on the day of his fight against Daniel Cormier, at UFC 214, and he came out negative. The sample from the day of the fight was collected shortly after the end of the event, when “Bones” knocked out DC in the third round to regain the title lost outside the octagon.

The test that was positive for turinabol and published by USADA was carried out one day earlier, on July 28, and the sample taken was urine. The North American is still waiting for the B sample, also collected at the time, to organize his defense plan. Meanwhile, he remains provisionally suspended from the UFC, but has not been stripped of his title yet.

Furthermore, tests carried out on Jones on July 6th and 7th did not show the presence of banned substances, and the tests were carried out as a surprise, when the champion did not know he would be tested. The pre-fight test, administered on July 28, was known to the North American. Last Thursday (31), Andy Foster, director of the California Athletic Commission (CSAC), had already expressed his confusion with the sequence of events that led to the champion's doping.
