Marlon, 29 years old, debuted in Ultimate last June, when he lost by split decision to his compatriot Raphael Assunção at UFC 212, in Rio de Janeiro. He is a former WSOF bantamweight champion, a title he held between March 2014 and January 2017. During this period, he won seven in seven fights, having defended the belt on five occasions. Before the recent setback, Moraes was undefeated for more than five years (13 fights). In total, his record has 18 wins, five defeats and one draw.

Former challenger for the flyweight belt, Dodson moved up to the bantamweight category after losing for the second time to the champion Demetrious Johnson. In the new division, he has already had three fights: he beat Manvel Gamburyan in April 2016, he was defeated in a decision by John Lineker last October, and he recently beat Eddie Wineland by points, in April this year. At 32 years old, he has 19 positive results and eight negative results on his record.

In addition to Marlon, four more Brazilians are already confirmed on the card.
