Conor McGregor left the UFC to fight the boxing superfight against Floyd Mayweather, last Saturday (26). But despite revealing that he intends to return to the Octagon soon, the Irishman welcomed the challenge to another superfight outside the UFC. The Brazilian Demian Maia provoked McGregor into a jiu-jitsu fight.
At an event promoted by the UFC to promote the São Paulo edition, on October 28, Demian spoke about the possibility of facing Conor in the gentle art.

“If McGregor wants to do a jiu-jitsu fight with me, that would be interesting (laughs)”, joked Demian, who analyzed the UFC champion's fight against Mayweather.
“Obviously, for those in the industry, what was prepared for this fight was a marketing piece to generate dividends, generate money. A non-boxing guy against an expert, a guy trying his hardest. Mayweather, from the third round onwards, controlled the fight with some calm. A normal fight. Now, despite all the noise made, those who are not involved will watch. I saw a lot of people who are not from the industry commenting because a lot of marketing was done on top of it. It's more for the show. I don't think it's more interesting than Lyoto's fight against Derek, for example. The interesting thing was seeing the show and the whole circus that was set up”, added Maia.
UFC Sao Paulo
