Shortly after achieving the 50th victory of his boxing career, Floyd Mayweather had to reiterate that he will not fight again for any opponent – or of any value. And the North American also said he was impressed with the technique of Conor McGregor. “Money” admits that he didn’t expect the Irishman to appear so prepared for the duel, as the UFC champion made his professional boxing debut.

“I was shocked, really, by his abilities. And he's very tough too (…) I could have used counterattacks and boxed better than him all night, but I decided to be more aggressive. I wanted the knockout, I felt like I owed it to my fans for the last few fights. But this is my last fight, for sure. I wanted to get there and fight one last time and I chose the right guy to be my last opponent,” commented Mayweather.
When talking about McGregor's complaints, who thought the fight was stopped prematurely, Mayweather was ironic. The American declared that the referee stopped the duel correctly and said that he was thinking about his future.
“I heard Conor say he wanted me to take him down, but the referee was there to save you, not save me. McGregor, the referee and I want you to fight again, that you have a future in the world of fights”, said the fighter, who admitted to having suffered a hand injury in the last few weeks of training.
“I didn't spar for a month, exactly because I had a problem with my hand and I wanted it to be perfect for the day of the fight. But it happens,” she concluded.
