Just over two months after a serious traffic accident that almost took his life, the former UFC champion Matt hugs has shown incredible recovery. The retired fighter suffered a side collision with his pickup truck on a train and ended up in a coma on June 16th. Last Monday (21), the North American returned to the mats, doing some light jiu-jitsu training.

The quick video was recorded by Tony Zucca, who has also fought MMA and is a personal friend of Hughes. In it, the former champion stands guard with a friend and tries to land a guillotine choke. Even though he appears to be thinner and with impaired movement, the video is encouraging, given the precarious situation in which Hughes found himself after the accident.
The North American was recently inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame as a fighter, but also for having one of the main fights in the company's history, when he came close to being submitted by Frank Trigg, he resisted and submitted him in the first round. He was welterweight champion on two occasions and has victories over Georges St Pierre, B.J. Penn, Royce gracie and Matt Serra.
