Main technician Conor McGregor, John Kavanagh believes that his pupil will shock the world and knock out Floyd Mayweather in next Saturday's superfight (26). The coach, who has a black belt in jiu-jitsu, but also works on the UFC champion's boxing, has two predictions for the duel, but both end with the “Notorious” winning by knockout.

According to Kavanagh, it all depends on Mayweather's first reaction when the fight starts. According to the coach, if the North American takes a step back, he will survive until the sixth round, if he takes a step forward, he will be knocked out in the first round.

“The two will walk to the middle of the ring, one of them will take a step back. If Floyd takes a step back, which I think he will, then he will only be knocked out in the sixth round. This is my prediction. I think that in the first five rounds, he will walk back, balance on the ropes, protect himself and absorb, as he always does, and try to tire Conor. But if he doesn't take a step back, if he walks forward and exchanges punches, then it's going to be a one-round fight. Because he would fight in a way that is not natural for him. He will not have had time to develop his skills to deal with an aggressive fighter like Conor. I watched Floyd's fights and he's really good defensively, so it would be very strange for him to change moving forward and that's what Conor wants. He would be unconscious in a minute,” commented Kavanagh, in an interview with The MMA Hour.

One of the pioneers of MMA in Ireland, John Kavanagh trains other UFC athletes, such as Russian-Irish Artem Lobov and Icelandic Gunnar Nelson. His specialty is grappling, but he has specialized in training the striking of some of his athletes and was an integral part of McGregor's camp for the superfight with Mayweather.
