The MMA world was taken by surprise when junior gypsy was removed from the UFC 215 fight program for doping. The Brazilian was caught in a surprise test applied by USADA and will not face Francis Ngannou on the 9st of September.

Through an official statement, Cigano's team revealed that the change in the test was caused by the substance hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic that is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Júnior, however, does not recognize doping and revealed that he will ask for proof of the test. Still according to the note, the Brazilian fighter reveals that he called Ngannou to apologize.

Júnior tested positive for a substance called hydrochlorothiazide, which is a diuretic banned by USADA because it is considered a masking agent. We don't know where this substance came from. Junior has had his blood and urine tested randomly many times and has never tested positive for a banned substance.
Today we ordered testing on Sample B. Oftentimes, Sample B will show identical results to Sample A. However, we are already analyzing your nutritional supplements and medications to determine if anything was contaminated. Junior remains committed to and supportive of the USADA anti-doping program – even though he is experiencing an unfortunate consequence of it.
