In the last years, Conor McGregor He has been known for efficiently predicting the outcome of his fights. Last Wednesday night, the Irishman made the boldest prediction of recent times. Visiting the North American program “Late Night with Conan O'Brien”, the UFC champion said that his fight with Floyd Mayweather, which will take place on August 26, will not last more than one round.

McGregor had previously said he would knock out Mayweather in the first four rounds, but declared that this was a conservative prediction, and that he was being “humble” by taking four rounds to end the superfight.

“I had said the fight would last four rounds, but I was being humble. I don't believe he will last a round. But I'm trying to be humble on broadcast TV, so I said there were four. I think that the opponents that Floyd faced in his career had a certain type of movement, and boxing itself is on automatic, the feet are very fixed in the ring. Compare this to an MMA fighter who can get in and out very quickly. So I believe I will be a figure in there that he has never seen before or that the boxing community has never seen before and that will cause him a lot of damage. If we bring my accuracy and power into the discussion…I only need to unleash one blow. I've knocked out men in seconds. I won the UFC title in 13 seconds (against José Aldo). So throw all this into the discussion and Floyd is finished. That’s it”, declared the “Notorious”.

Interestingly, the show's host, Conan O'Brien, is one of the UFC's minority shareholders following the purchase that WME-IMG made. The talent agency recruited some of its top names, including O'Brien, so they could own Ultimate. In addition to him, names like Serena Williams, Mark Wahlberg and Tom Brady also became Ultimate shareholders.
