After making the duel against Michael Bisping for the middleweight title, the former UFC welterweight champion Georges St Pierre denied being afraid of Tyron woodley, current holder of the belt in the 77 kg category. The “Chosen One” had accused GSP of being afraid of him and, therefore, insisted on facing the Englishman, but the former Canadian champion guarantees that this is not the case.

In an interview with The MMA Hour, St. Pierre said he believes a fight against Bisping brings him more benefits at this point in his career and admitted he respects Woodley.

“Woodley did an excellent job of neutralizing Demian Maia. I didn't think he was capable of doing that. But I'm not afraid of him. Even though he talks bad about me, I like him (laughs). I just think that, right now, I have more to gain by facing Michael Bisping. Who knows, in the future, I won't face him for the title that was once mine and is now his? His fight with Maia may have been a little boring, but he did an excellent job. It’s not just Tyron’s fault, but also Demian’s,” commented GSP, admitting that he feels bad about Woodley not getting the “money fight”.

“Everyone wants the money fight. And I feel bad for him, I really do. I prefer to think that it wasn't his performance against Demian that made Dana White put me up against Bisping. He had tough opponents and did the best he could in those situations”, he analyzed.
