Cormier admits he doesn't remember the knockout he suffered against Jones

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier suffered his first knockout defeat to Jon Jones at UFC 214. But the American said he doesn't remember what happened during the blows he suffered from his arch-rival and he also lost his memory a few minutes after the fight. He also admitted that he did not remember some moments of the duel.

In an interview with The MMA Hour, Cormier declared that he does not intend to see the fight anytime soon, as family, friends and coaches say that she was balanced before the kick and he does not want to dwell on the mistake made before the knockout.

“I'm guessing how the fight went, I don't remember. I asked people close to me how the fight was going and they said it was even, so I think this will do me more harm than good. I don't want to feel disappointed again when watching combat. I don't know if I'm emotionally ready yet to see the fight, because it was such a simple mistake and it hurts. I have no problems with Joe Rogan, the commentator, or referee John McCarthy. They were doing their jobs. Mainly, regarding the interview with Rogan, I don't remember anything, honestly. I don’t remember crying, or leaving the octagon”, commented Cormier, who also said he was not angry with Jon Jones or how the fight ended.

“I always said I respected him as a competitor. He is a great athlete. I really hope that, now that he has the belt back, he knows how to handle the spotlight better. I wish him that”, he concluded.
