Known for his conservative style inside the octagon, which earned him 12 points victories among the 25 victories in his career, Georges St Pierre it is renewed. Without fighting since November 2013, when he decided to retire, the former welterweight champion (under 77kg) is preparing to return to the octagon next November, when he will face Michael Bisping in the main fight of UFC 217, in New York (USA), in a duel valid for the middleweight belt (under 84kg).

In his next challenge, GSP guarantees that he has changed his fighting style, promising that he will be more aggressive, looking for a knockout or quick submission over his opponent. If he succeeds in his new plan, he will break a fast that has lasted another eight years, when he knocked out B.J. Penn at UFC 94, in January 2009.

“I trained more things, I go more to hurt guys, go for knockouts or submissions. I will be more opportunistic. I feel like sometimes, when you're winning, it's about the guy who's losing creating an opening to try to win, it's like chess. If he doesn't, you continue playing your game. Now I feel that with my training over the last few years, I feel like I'm going to finish”, he declared, in an interview with the 'MMA Hour' program.

In the duel against Bisping, St. Pierre will have the chance to make history by joining B.J. Penn, Randy Couture and Conor McGregor as the only champions in two different categories. At 36 years old, he has a professional record of 25 wins and two losses. In the UFC, he has accumulated 20 triumphs and two setbacks, with nine title defenses in the welterweight category, a feat that established him as the most dominant champion in the history of the 77kg division.
